FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF MASSAGE?
Most people think of having a massage to help with muscle pain or just as pampering. Both perfectly good reasons although there are real benefits to massage that sometimes go unrealised. It stimulates blood flow, improving oxygen supply to muscles and helps the lymph system move toxins and waste out of the body. It reduces stress hormone levels (Cortisol) and releases "feel good" hormones. This helps the immune system and can reduce blood pressure. Not least, a good massage often makes for a good nights sleep.
WILL YOU HELP MY PAIN?
Usually. Almost everyone I treat reports feeling significantly less pain and generally better. Sometimes a good massage is a solution. Other times it is a case of relieving symptoms. I can often suggest exercises to help if you are experiencing pain.
DOES MASSAGE HURT?
Generally not if done properly. Some problem areas are best treated with techniques that may cause some controlled pain. Often described to me as "nice pain". But only with your permission. I pay great attention to your well being and take care to ensure your massage is a pleasurable one throughout. I'm not rough!
WILL I NEED TO UNDRESS?
You certainly do not need undress any further than you want to. I will ask you about your wishes beforehand. Being in undergarments is preferable and it is better if ladies wear a bra that can be unfastened at the back. I use towels to ensure only the area being massaged is uncovered and I will leave the room while you get on and off the couch. So your privacy will be respected at all times. But there is no requirement to undress.
